You'll provide high quality support to the team by conducting the necessary compliance tasks to the support the local business.
You will advise and monitor their activities, to enable Equiom to comply with the relevant laws, regulations and codes of practice applicable to their business licence(s).
Collaborate with the local business is key so you can identify and manage their risk and exposure, ensuring the current systems and controls in place are robust and relevant in order to protect both internal and external risk factors, whilst encouraging a culture of compliance and ethical standards.
Your New Role
This list of duties is not exhaustive and may change from time to time according to business needs:
- Comply with all internal policies and procedures
- Provide advice & guidance to the business
- Carry out due diligence reviews
- Register maintenance
- Complete Client screening and associated monitoring activities eg: Risk screen searches, open source, liaison notices, sanctions, public statements, media searches
- Carry out data remediation
- Assist with closure activities
- Assist with the compliance monitoring programme (testing) risk and make recommendations / suggest possible solutions to address findings identified
- Carry out 90-day reviews
- Carry out periodic reviews
- Participate in the Business Continuity Planning
- Support the Group Risk function upon request
- Support regulatory/banking relations/auditors and similar visit inspections
- Train and support colleagues
- Continuously look for process improvements and efficiencies
- Assist with the drafting of policies & procedures
- Document management – Link NAV or filling as appropriate
What will you need to succeed in this role?
As to be expected, we are searching for someone who can bring a range of skills and experiences to enhance the team. As such, there are a few essential skills we are looking for:
- A good understanding of fiduciary services
- Knowledge of client structures eg: corporates, trusts, foundations, and the associated due diligence requirements
- A good understanding of the Jersey Anti-Money Laundering, Countering of Terrorist Financing & Countering of Proliferation Financing regime
- Have an understanding of high-risk features such as PEPs, sanctions, sensitive business activities, material jurisdictional connections
- Experience completing client periodic reviews
- Knowledge of statutory filling requirements in relation to client structures
- Ability to provide guidance to the administration teams on the completion of periodic review action points
- Experience in a similar role within a regulated environment
- Hold a relevant compliance qualification eg: ICA (desirable)
- Experience of Navision, Microsoft office and RiskScreen (desirable)
